Chieff Operating Officer

Statewide

Whether she is being an extraordinary mother or spending long hours fulfilling her duties as the Chief Operating Officer of Youth M.O.V.E, Jammie Farish has dedicated her life to helping those who are dealing with the consequences of mental or emotional challenges. Jammie is an integral part of the mental wellness advocacy community, and is valued because of her experiences with her disadvantaged children, and the youth she works with on a daily basis.

Growing up, Jammie struggled with ADHD and the problems associated with it. Through the support of her family, friends, and church, she has become the strong, selfless woman she is today. Motivated by her own fight against mental illness, Jammie became an advocate for youth and young adults who struggle with similar issues, creating a long and admirable list of professional accomplishments. She has worked with North Clackamas School District and the Clackamas County Community Health Center. Jammie was a member of the Children’s System Advisory Council, a member of the Planning and Management Council, the former Executive Director of the Oregon Family Support Network and also sat on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Children's Residential Centers. She has worked on various committees and councils, attempting to get the voice of the mentally challenged heard and respected. For her work, she has been awarded the Children’s Mental Health Award for Excellence from the state of Oregon, and the Advocate of the Year from Oregon Council of Child and Adolescent Psychology. Her entire life has been dedicated to the betterment of youth with mental challenges, and she truly has had a lasting effect on them and their families.

In 2009, Jammie worked with Martin Rafferty and Lisa Moody to found Youth M.O.V.E. Oregon and establish it as an independent, youth-driven organization that has had a sizeable impact at both the local and state levels. Jammie is our Chief Operations Officer, working many hours a day to ensure that youth in need have the resources they need to thrive. She successfully manages the Youth M.O.V.E. programs across the state where young adults can come and get help in various aspects of life. Jammie works with professionals from all over the state to improve the services and outcomes for families who are challenged by mental illness. She values the overall well-being and future of these young adults, and shows it through her absolute passion for what she does. Out of Jammie’s four children, three experience special needs: her son Ezra experiences Bipolar Disorder and ADHD, her daughter Kali experiences Angelman Syndrome and an intellectual disability, and her son Corey deals with challenges related to Autism and Down Syndrome. Her other daughter, MacKenzie, attends the University of Alabama where she studies PR and Marketing. All her children are happy and in good health, thanks to Jammie and her husband’s love and hard work. Her greatest achievement has been raising her children to be successful and healthy. She applies her maternal skills at work everyday when she helps youth and young adults who come to Youth M.O.V.E for the care and support she so aptly provides.

In her limited free time, Jammie loves to ride horses and dirt bikes with her son, play with her two dogs, munch on some sour candy, and rock out to 80’s rap music.
