YOUTH M.O.V.E. OREGON WORSHOPS

Young Adults and Professionals as Policy Partners

Young Adults and Professionals as Policy Partners is a ½ day training, designed specifically to support advocacy partnerships between young people and professionals seeking to support them. We help bring youth, young adults and professionals together at the policy-making table where decisions are made that affect the lives of children, youth and young adults. The training works on both the local and regional level to recruit and train youth and young adults to become full, participating members of their local mental health advisory committees, quality improvement boards, councils, work groups and more!

The Butterfly Effect: Transitioning to Adult Services

We all know how challenging it is to navigate the complicated systems of care where we can receive services. Finally, we master the child/youth serving system just in time to be told we are now too old for this system and must enter the adult service system!
This workshop aims to better prepare young adults for success as they prepare to transition and enter the adult healthcare system.

This workshop has a bonus pull-out session for family members and caregivers too! We understand how hard it can be for family members to move from the driver's seat to the supporter's role.

Leadership, Education, Adventure & Direction

This curriculum lasts 36 weeks and is currently being used with young individuals across the state of Oregon where Youth M.O.V.E. Oregon chapters are present and active. This curriculum has been in use for several years in Eugene and has been reviewed and endorsed by the University of Oregon, located in the same city.

Strategic Sharing

Youth M.O.V.E. Oregon presents a workbook and training for individuals who have experienced traumatic life experiences and are interested in sharing their stories in an effort to promote change and positive individual growth. Training in Strategic Sharing is an important part of advocacy – we encourage anyone who has experienced traumatic life events and wishes to share those experiences in an effort to promote positive changes for yourself and/or others, to do so with the help of this guide. This workshop is best utilized as a series of days as the work shouldn't be rushed.
