Regional Director
Mid Valley-BCN
Matt Holland has been working in the mental health field for over 12 years in 3 different States in the western United States.
His roots began in California when he worked as a teacher’s aid in High school for Developmentally Disabled youth. From there he progressed to being a camp counselor for the same youth at a summer camp for three summers. After leaving High school he worked for a non-profit as a Job Coach for 18 to 24 year old Developmentally Disabled Adults.
In Alaska, Matt worked for North Star Behavioral Health as a Mental Health Specialist II at an all boys PRTC program ages 11 to 17 in Palmer; working with native Alaskans and children from out of State. Not only did the children do group and individual therapy there they also enjoyed all sorts of outdoor wilderness activities. These activities include but are not limited to: cross country skiing, snow shoeing, fishing, hiking, backpacking, camping, trekking, tribal ways and cultures and nature discovery.
Matt’s last and final stop is the wonderful State of Oregon. He began his career in Oregon working for Catherine Freer an Outdoor Wilderness Therapy company. He then worked for Trillium Family Services at the Children’s Farm Home as a Treatment Team Leader in the Sub-Acute unit. Then transferred within the company to administrate, manage and develop a young adults in transition program known as the Sender house. Matt now currently works for Linn County in Oregon as a Care Coordinator and Team facilitator for children and youth ages 3 to 19. He also works for Youth Move Oregon as a Regional Director running weekly Youth meetings for young adults in transition and advocating for transitional aged youth at a local, state and federal level. He does this through local committees, his seat as the Children’s Co-Chair for the state Council BHPAMAC and speaking out in any venue he can find
In his off time he loves spending time with his wife and three children exploring nature, art, theater, movies and books.
