Zar Oelke is a recent high school graduate, receiving his diploma just last year. He is 19 years old and exemplifies strength, passion, and an amazing work ethic. Growing up, Zar was constantly in the offices of counselors and therapists who attempted to help him with his anxiety and stress issues. At the age of ten, his younger brother passed away from Tuberous Sclerosis, which had a significant negative impact on his young mind. During his junior year of high school, Zar battled depression and suicidal thoughts.

 

He overcame these challenges and became involved with Youth M.O.V.E. through a volunteer position at a fundraiser. Zar now works at the Lane Country drop-in center, where he is grateful to have supportive coworkers. Zar feels as though he truly belongs here at Youth M.O.V.E.

 

In his free time, Zar loves to write, hang out with his friends, and listen to all kinds of music.
